About Our Fabric Drill Shacks
The Problem with Traditional Shacks
Traditional steel and plywood fly shacks are heavy and challenging to set up in adverse weather conditions, especially with a two person crew. If flown fully assembled, they catch a lot of helicopter rotor-wash, causing them to spin and creating difficulties for the pilot to control. When moved as an assembled unit, the helicopter is required 1) to lift each load straight up, or place it straight down into the drill setup, around the assembled shack or, 2) to place the heavy, spinning shack down over top of the drilling equipment on the pad. The bottom line is that these plywood shacks have not been proven to be safe or efficient. We've created the solution.
Our Solution
We've developed a lightweight, heli-portable and easy to assemble fabric drill shack. With an aluminum frame and fabric walls, CKC Ultralight shacks weigh around 500 pounds. They are quickly and easily set-up by two people in any weather and on steep sites with limited space, and can be assembled from the inside of the drill pad.
About Our Shacks
CKC Ultralight fabric shacks weigh around 500 lbs or less --depending on your specifications-- and are made from waterproof, windproof and flame resistant PVC fabric with an aluminum frame. Setup and take down takes 10-15 minutes on average.
